Privacy Policy

The short version: Marigold Cycle keeps your data on your device. We have no servers, run no analytics, and never collect or share your information. The only data that ever leaves your device is what you explicitly choose to share with a partner — and that is end-to-end encrypted by Apple, so not even we or Apple can read it.

Who We Are

Marigold Cycle ("the App") is developed by GDW Entertainment, LLC. This policy describes how the App handles your information. We do not operate any servers, databases, or analytics platforms — by design, we never have access to your data.

Data Stored on Your Device

All of the following is stored locally on your device and is never sent to our servers:

Cycle logs — period flow, cycle start days, symptoms, mood, and notes.
Fertility data — basal body temperature (BBT), ovulation test results, and predictions derived from your history.
Birth control — your chosen method, reminder time, and the days you mark a dose as taken.
Preferences — goal, notification, appearance, and reminder settings, including any custom notification text you write.

This data is backed up only if you have iCloud Device Backup enabled in your device's Settings — a backup controlled by you and Apple, not by us.

Apple Health

If you grant permission, Marigold Cycle can read your menstrual and basal body temperature history from Apple Health and write your in-app logs back so other apps stay in sync. This data stays on your device and in Apple Health — we never receive a copy. You can revoke access at any time in Settings → Privacy & Security → Health.

Partner Sharing (Optional)

If you create an invitation link, the App uses Apple's CloudKit sharing (CKShare) to let one partner view a limited slice of your cycle. This is stored in your private iCloud database and is end-to-end encrypted under your iCloud key — Apple cannot read it, we cannot read it, and only the iCloud account you invite can.

What is shared: your current cycle day, current phase, days until your next period, fertile-window dates, and an optional short "heads-up" note you write.
What is never shared: your symptoms, notes, flow details, mood, BBT readings, or birth-control data.
Custom notification templates, if you and your partner both use them, are stored on the same encrypted shared record.
You can stop sharing at any time by removing the share from within the App or from your iCloud settings.

Notifications

Reminders for periods, fertile windows, patterns, and birth control are scheduled locally on your device by iOS. They are not sent through any server.

In-App Purchases

Purchases are processed entirely by Apple through StoreKit. GDW Entertainment does not collect or store any payment information. Purchase records are managed by Apple and your Apple ID.

Third-Party Services

Marigold Cycle contains no third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking SDKs. It uses only Apple-provided frameworks. We do not collect device identifiers, advertising IDs, IP addresses, or usage telemetry, and we never sell, rent, or share your data.

Data Export and Deletion

You can export all of your data as a JSON file at any time from Settings → Data. Deleting the App removes all locally stored data. Because we hold no copy of your data, there is nothing for us to delete on our end.

Children's Privacy

Marigold Cycle is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated date.
